Poem for Mum

Created by Emma 8 years ago
Dear Mum,

I told you I was proud of you I'd never seen you this strong
For you of course you had no option and courageously soldiered on

Grandad would be so proud of you and Uncle Tom too,
but I guess they will get to tell you that now you are with them too.

It was really quite painful to see you mum not the way you were suppose to be,
the caring, loving mother who could no longer cuddle me

I truly hope this illness becomes something of last century and it will stop at just you, Lynn and dear kitty.

I watched you live your life giving it every glamorous bit you had
With the most amazing man beside you who I am proud to call my Dad.

I thought you'd be with me much longer Mum if only I had known
Now you won't get to see my young daughters become woman of their own.

You never did complain of what you were going through
Instead your eyes lit up each time we entered the room

I was so happy to be right beside you when you really needed me
Your last moments here with us where you really still should be

But in the end the peacefulness that came across your tender face
I knew that you had left us to be in a better place

There are no words to express how much we all will miss you
So I just have one last thing to say and that is I love you.

Your loving daughter always x
